Boca Chica in Chiriqui Panama - an unspolied ecosystem on the Pacific coast
Located in the Gulf of Chiriqui in Panama, the village of Boca Chica invites you to discover a the natural ecosystem of the Gulf of Chiriquí has many wonders along this coastline, including the magnificent National Marine Park, situated between the island of Coiba on Panama's Pacific coast, and Costa Rica, it's neighbor country.
Today, the rehabilitation of roads allows access to the tropical archipelago islands. The small town of Boca Chica is located on the mainland and has a pier for cruises and transfers to surrounding islands. At Boca Chica, you will find a variety of accommodation, it is generally small hotels with a good service, but there is an offer for any type of budget. On the other hand, hotels have their own pier for visits to other islands in the Marine National Park.
Boca Brava is another island that you might enjoy, just 10 minutes away from Boca Chica, and only 30 minutes away you will find many islands with white sand beaches.
How to get there?
Car: From Panama City, follow the Inter-American Highway to the town of David, stay right and head towards the village of Horconcitos. After 3 miles (5 km), you will reach a three-way split, take the middle lane and continue straight. After the next corner, turn left signposted to Boca Chica.
Bus: At the Tocumen International Airport, take a taxi to Albrook bus station. Take a direct bus from the town of Chiriquí. There are departures every hour to the David-Boquete bus and they take you to the town of David. These buses operate from 6 am to 8 pm.
